About Us
Teach Tank is a collective of experienced educators who believe in the power of critical pedagogy and community care as intentional acts of resistance.
Birthed from backyard discussions in the summer of 2015, Teach Tank began as a way to build community outside of the school building. Informal gatherings evolved into an intentional endeavor to create and protect space for teachers committed to love, learning, and liberation.
Our community was created by teachers for teachers—a space where educators can find belonging and connection outside of traditional institutions.
Together, we support individuals and teams working across a broad range of settings to provide rigorous instructions and responsive classroom practices.

Teach Tank Theory of Change
We are united by a belief that only anti-racist, culturally sustaining pedagogy can meet the needs of our diverse learners.
To provide this, educators must have access to meaningful relationships with colleagues who understand modern challenges to teaching and learning and remain committed to liberatory, transformative education.
To Uphold the Promise of Public Education, We Believe…
- Educators must communicate and work together.
- Schools must honor students’ intersecting identities.
- Communities must organize to support and protect our schools.
our values
- Authentic: Grounded in lived experience.
- Community-Led: Built by and for educators.
- Realistic and Research-Backed: Classroom-ready tools that work.
Caring for ourselves is inseparable from caring for our students.
In addition to providing resources, Teach Tank creates opportunities for healing and connection. Through community building and collective care, we help educators stay grounded in their purpose—without losing themselves along the way.
